The Wildcats fought the Carlyle Indians at Oblong, on September 10. They fought to the end but were unable to reach a happy ending. The Wildcats 22, and the Indians 40, ended the game with good sportsmanship and a few injuries. Emma Newlin, one of our Wildcat Cheerleaders, passed out from overheating, but cooled off in the ambulance and was able to finish the game. Max Lewis, 50, suffered a concussion in the middle of the game and was unable to continue. He is now in recovery and should be able to return to the field by September 24, for Oblong’s Homecoming! The OPH Wildcat Football boys are preparing now for Palestine Homecoming, September 17, at Palestine Grade School. The game’s kickoff is 2:00 pm, followed by the dance, at 7:00 pm at the Main Street Pavilion.
