Prom and Post Prom
May 11, 2022
Prom this year, with the theme “Deep Sea Dreams,” was held in the PHS gym from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Prom was organized by the Junior class and their sponsors, Mrs. Will, and Mrs. Wartsbaugh. Unlike most schools in Crawford County, students at PHS don’t have to pay for prom because the junior class earns money to pay for prom through fundraisers. PHS students were also allowed to bring a friend as long as they were under 21.
As students walked into the school, Mr. Will announced each couple or group of students as they walked in. Mr. Smith took pictures as they walked into the building. Zoey Rinesmith also organized and took formal prom pictures, offering a variety of photo packages.
The music was popular because students were able to pick any song they wanted, as long as there was a clean version of it. There were plenty of good songs played. Then at 10:00 pm, the Prom Queen and King were announced. This year’s Prom queen was Krescene Holscher, and the Prom King was Tyler Dennison. Other members of the court were Stephanie Rudd, Wesley Adams, Halle Piper, and Rider Lawhorn.
Post prom, organized by the juniors’ parents, was held from 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. in the Palestine Grade School gym. There were games, including dodge ball, corn hole, and a hula hoop contest. There were also prizes given away, including two TV’s, 100 dollars, and a lot of gift cards.
