What I´ve learned in High-school
May 4, 2022
Coming into high school, so many people told me that the whole time I was going to be here, time flies by faster and faster every time you step foot into Palestine High School, and they were definitely right about that. The past four years of my high school career have gone by, and I just can’t believe that I’m a senior now and about to go to college next fall at Lincoln Trail College to major in Process Technology for two years.
My freshman year, I wasn’t really the social type of person you would think I was back then, like I am now, because I barely talked to anyone during the entire year. I didn’t even talk to half of my teachers. I never really liked being called on to present assignments in class in front of the entire class. In my Bio 1 class, Mr. Smith always asked how each of the students’ days were the day before, and when he called on me, all I basically did was shrug my shoulders and nod my head. During the first semester of my freshman year, I had him, and as the year progressed, I said a few more words to him, but not much, and when senior year came around, he kept saying I said more words to him than I had ever said in my entire year there.
From being able to go to this school, I have learned so many things, like being more social with other students, learning how to be kind to one another, and many more things that have made me who I am right now in life, because this school has just been a very amazing time. From my resource management teacher, Mrs. Huffington, I have also learned more things about finances that will help with life.
Many seniors say that they can’t wait to leave, and I’m with them because I really don’t feel like this is real. Some days, I still believe I have another year in high school, but when I wake up, I realize that I only have three days left as a senior in high school, which is really sad to be honest. All I really want to say is that I hope I love what I’m going into college for, become very good at my job, and am happy with my future. It will be here before I know it, just like high school.
