Social media is something that is a part of every kid’s life in some way, this is not necessarily a bad thing, but I would not say it is a great thing. Being on social media for just a short period will not affect your child in any way, but if they are on it all day, it can cause health problems. Children’s daily behavior at home can change drastically, which includes increased irritability, increased anxiety, and a lack of self-esteem.

Many dangers to being on social media can affect your kids like cyber-bullying, online predators, sharing too much information with the wrong person, false marketing, and dangerous viral trends. Whenever I have kids someday, I’m going to limit their screen time, monitor their screen time as well, and model good behavior for them. I believe that if you can stay away from social media in any way, then you should. If you can avoid watching the news and getting involved in politics, you will be much better off during your lifetime.
