Santa Claus is coming to town!

Since all of us were little we learned about holidays such as Valentines Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and many others. Right now, we are focused on Christmas.  Christmas is the time of the year where we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, and we spend it with our friends and family and exchange presents and eat together.

Santa Claus has a lot to do with Christmas. Santa Claus is a joyful, bright, and very caring older gentleman who travels around the world in his sled with his reindeer giving nice gifts to kids who behave and coal to kids who disobey. Santa Claus lives in the North Pole with his wife Mrs. Claus. They have elves, reindeer, and a literal winter wonderland. The North Pole is filled with joyfulness, happiness, a lot of care from Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, the elves, and especially the reindeer.  It is every child’s wish to go and have the best experience at the North Pole. Since no one is able to go and visit the North Pole, our community has been nice enough to give us an experience of what the North Pole may be like.

Our community was nice enough to build something called Kringle’s Korner.  Kringle’s Korner is located at the former Mini Park at the corner of E. Walnut Street and S. Jefferson Street, in Robinson, IL. It was built in 1994. Kringle’s Korner is a special project for kids to celebrate the joys of Christmas.  This special event area is the home of one of a kind of Santa’s House that our Community is able to look at year around.

Finally, I have talked to a few people about their experience at Kringle’s Korner. Their response was varied because of Santa’s limited scheduled times, making it harder for parents to take their kids to the certain spot. I know a few parents who take their kids and they had a very good experience with it, but sadly, not being able to see Santa meant others did not have such a great experience with it.  Some people have told me they need to advertise it better and make it  into a bigger deal so they will be able to take their kids there, but this year with Covid still going on, Santa has not been scheduled.
