The annual Christmas on the River event will be taken place on Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 5-8 PM. It is always the first Saturday evening after Thanksgiving in Hutsonville. Some things that you should expect if you are going is a cookie walk in the Community Center which is sponsored by the Hutsonville Lighting Committee. This is not a typical cake walk, you will put on a disposable glove, take a Styrofoam container, and fill it with whatever goodies you like. Once your all done, it is weighed, and then you pay $5/lb of cookies. This event helps the Lighting Committee make money to be able to continue to do these events every year. There is also a new thing that is happening this year which is the opportunity to purchase decorate-your-own Cookie kits! These are very limited quantity, each kit comes with with prebaked sugar cookies, icing in multiple colors, and an assortment of holiday sprinkles. Kids will also be able to drop off a pre-written letter to Santa in the Community Center. The Hutsonville Booster club is providing a soup dinner for everyone attending which include chili, vegetable, loaded baked potato, and chicken and wild rice. There will also be a lighted golf cart/ATV/Jeep parade beginning at 7. There are more events that will be happening throughout the night so you better come to find out!
