Another Festival Making a Comeback This Year

Shyan Dunlap, author

This year we got our usual Labor Day festivities back after they took a break last year. Another long time returning festival will be the Wine and Arts festival at the beginning of October. That same weekend in October however, is the Heath Toffee Festival in the next town over. Currently the Heath Toffee Festival is looking for different vendors to make this year as great as the one two years ago was.

Besides last year’s Covid break the Heath Toffee Festival has gone on every year since at least 1956. Then it had carnival rides on the courthouse lawn and a parade on main street. Before the 90’s the festival was known as Robinson Fall Festival, but in the 90’s it got changed to the Heath Toffee Fest. Now we usually have a bounce house or two, but not any carnival rides. We still have a parade which is quite large, and many vendors set up around the square.
