It is now August, and that means football and cheer season has started. The fans have been waiting for this time of the year to come as football is very popular sport for us. OPH played their first game this past Saturday against the Dupo Tigers.

OPH ran out on the field to the song called Enner Sandman, and the crowd was going wild. OPH did not win the coin toss, but they started out with the ball. It was a slow start for their offense, but coach Straka made some adjustments.

The first score of the game came from QB Owen Potts, a sneak up the middle. Dupo then scored the next two touchdowns. Sophomore JD McPhereson came in as the quarterback and the team started to run the ball on the outside as well as pass it more.

Things started to heat up some when a penalty flag was thrown and one of the fans on Dupo’s team did not like it. That fan ended up getting ejected from the game.

Things were still spicy at this point, and two lineman were hitting each other after the whistle was blown and they were also immediately ejected.

It ended up being a hard fought game with the score being 22-30, Dupo wins.
