The pioneers have had to forfeit their game against the Martinsville Bluestreaks. The Pioneers in their last game suffered quite a few injuries including Avry Monti whose foot broke, Elvis Goulart whose ribs are popped out, and Connor Nelson who has a concussion. To say the least, there are a lot of pioneers out. The coaches and the team captains thought that it would be best for the team’s health to not play the game against Martinsville.
Martinsville is one of the top teams in the state they have one numerous state titles and many playoff wins. Talking to coach Celeb Wesly, Matinsville was very understanding towards this and was willing to accept the forfeit. The pioneers tried to find a team for the Bluestreaks to play so they could have a homecoming game. Martinsville had also suffered a few little injuries so it was a good thing for them as well.
The Pioneers will be going to oblong this week to play the Panthers, and this is a rivalry that has gone on for many years. The Pioneers feel that they can win this game.
”It is all about who wants it more” is what Avry Monti has been saying this whole week at practice.
