Our adventure now takes us to Syrup Village which is a quiet community nestled amid rolling grasslands, dirt trails, hills, and forests. Its residents live in modest homes, their simplicity contrasted by Kaya’s grand and elegant mansion, which stands out among them on the top of a hill. There are also two slopes leading from the island’s shoreline to the village, one located to the north and the other to the south. These passages are the only way to reach Syrup Village from the beach, as the rest of the coastline is marked by steep, impassable cliffs.
We see that The Straw Hats have arrived in Syrup Village, where they meet Usopp, who entertains notions of grandeur by commanding the Usopp Pirates. This group is composed of Usopp and three loyal village children. The Usopp Pirates cause no real trouble, but frequently annoy the villagers, most often by giving false warnings of attacking pirates.
But all isn’t as it seems. We have discovered that a Local butler isn’t who everyone thought he was. Years ago, Captain Kuro’s plan was to fake his death, go into hiding in Syrup Village as the butler Klahadore, and eventually inherit the fortune of Kaya by assuming the role as her butler. Luckily, The Straw hat pirates were here to help and just before many could be killed, Zoro and Luffy arrive and fight Kuro’s crew.
Meanwhile, Kuro unleashes his Shakushi that attacks everything in sight, including his own men, revealing that part of his original plan was to kill his crew so his true identity could never be exposed. Angered by Kuro’s lack of respect for his crew, and his abandoning of the ideal of what it means to be a pirate, the final victory is won by Luffy, who defeats him with his devastating Gum Gum Bell and forces the Black Cat Pirates to leave the village with Kuro’s body freeing Syrup Village from a doomed fate.
