
Texas Tech Red Raiders 2025 softball season was a historic success, as the team made its first ever women’s college world series appearance and reached the national championship series, though they ultimately fell to Texas. The Red Raiders went 50-16 on the season including 20 home games. The team built a championship-caliber roster using the transfer portal and also showed significant progress in their mental toughness and ability to finish games, ending the season with a 20-9 record against ranked opponents. When they developed their mental toughness it helped them learn to pay for each other which helped contribute to their success.
Texas Tech Red Raiders have some very reliable coaches that helped get them through their season. Their head coach is Gerry Glasco, associate head coach Tara Archibald, assistant coaches Hunter Veach, and Kayla Kowalik. All together they have 20 players but they only play their top nine unless a player gets hurt or needs a break. Their top nine starters are Nijaree Canaday, Kaitlyn Terry, Jasmyn Burns, Victoria Valdez, Taylor Panell, Alana Johnson, Mia Williams, Mihyia Davis, and Lauren Allred. Red Raiders star player is Nijaree Canady who signed a seven figure NIL deal to join the team she is the star pitcher and transferred from Stanford.
The Red Raiders biggest competition is the Texas Longhorns. The Texas Tech Red Raiders goal for the upcoming season is winning the college world series and continuing to be one of the top teams in the nation. Given their recent success and the star pitcher Nijaree Canadys return on lucrative NIL deal the team is positioned to be a championship contender aiming to secure their first national title.The Red Raiders have never won a national championship their 2025 season was the closest they have ever got to winning one.
The Red Raiders will compete in the Mary Nutter Collegiate classic in February 2026. They are also scheduled to participate in the tournament in Cathedral city California from February 19-22nd. The Texas Tech Red Raiders 2026 schedule has not been publicly released yet; these are the only two times we know of them playing until their official schedule comes out.
