The obs Chevy was produced from 1988 to 1998. They made them all up till 2000 but they were a little harder to find. They got the name ¨obs¨ because they switched to a new body style in 1999 so the older body style was called the ¨obs¨. These trucks came with a couple different motors. They came with the 4.3L v6, 5.0L v8, 5.7L v8, 7.4L v8, 6.2L v8, and 6.5L v8. The 6.2L and the 6.5L were diesel engines. In 1996 most of the motors switched from carburetor to fuel injected.
These trucks came in a couple different configurations too. The ½ ton trucks came with the single cab short bed, Single cab long bed, extended cab short bed, extended cab long bed, and even crew cab long bed. If you want the ½ ton crew cab short bed you have to buy a conversion kit for it. Most of those configurations came in ¾ ton besides all of the short bed options. They came to Tahoe and Yukon too. Those are the same in two doors and 4 doors. That is pretty much all of the motor and body configurations you can get in the ¨obs¨ Chevy.
