This article is about the homecoming football game: Palestine pioneers vs Macon Meridian. this game was very stimulated everyone had thought it was going to be a good game two teams that have won a game all year only one could come out on top.
Macon won the toss to start off the game with the ball and the pioneers stopped the kick returner. Macon scored on there opening drive. Then the Pioneers got the ball and could not find a way to move the ball on the Macon deference. The Pioneer defence played very well in the first quarter.
I talked to Owen Griffin about the game and this is what he had to say: “The offense was not firing on all cylinders, and the defense was not playing the right way. They should’ve played more down hill than what they did. The linebackers were more worried about the pass because the offense that the team was running was called a spread, which is a passing offense of formation.”
In the end, the Pioneers fell short and did not get the win, but there is always next week when the team travels to St. Thomas for their game on Saturday.
