The new game NBA 2k26 has problems. Up to this point the game has only been out to people who purchased the Superstar edition for early access. These problems include shot timing glitches, cross-play complications and players having trouble getting into Theater game modes. Also, just some things while playing can feel “wonky” or not right, especially compared to past games. In my opinion, this all should have been fixed by this point, especially by the release.
The shot timing glitch is something that is very crucial to the game. When you shoot the ball there is a meter that shows up on screen, and in that meter is a green window. If you stop your shot in the green window, you will make the shot unless someone blocks it. In the game there have been multiple players hitting that green window, and the game doesn’t register that they did, so they miss. This can lose your team the game even though you shot the ball just fine.
Another glitch is when people try to get in what is called the Theater to play games with other players. In the Theater there are doors to go in that represent different game modes, like if you want to 1vs1 someone or 3vs3 a team. When you try to go into these doors, the game will either have a connection error or an error that says that the event has ended. The event hasn’t ended, and your connection usually isn’t bad, it just happens quite a bit.
The last problem that I have encountered is cross-play problems. When you try to add a friend that plays on a different console it doesn’t work. You can’t add them or invite them to a game in any way. It just gets frustrating when trying to play with friends from other consoles. There is a way to bypass the glitch but it can be difficult to do.
Some people may say that early access is so the game developers can find problems or complaints and fix the game up more but even after full release not much seemed to be done. There are still problems with cross-play, shot timing, and the Theater.
The problems that I have seen the most are the ones I talked about in the article. I have not seen any more glitches or bugs as of now. 2k26 seems to be a very promising game outside of the bugs.
