When you start high school, you are fresh out of junior high and grade school and wanting to make the leap. You don’t really stop to think about how it will be your last 4 years of high school then you move on to bigger endeavours. Then your senior year comes and at first it feels like just another year, then you get to your last week of high school ever then the reality finally kicks in that you are about to be done with high school and your last week is about over. Then that bell rings and it will be the last time you ever hear that ring in your life.
My freshman year was the the 2nd easiest high school year as it is meant to switch you from the junior high and grade school rules and setup to how the High School operates. Then you have your first high school events then your first dance that year. I found enjoyment in my Freshman year, doing a bunch of school activities that I have never done before. Classes were not that hard and started to get comfortable.
My Sophomore year was a little different. While Freshman year was to get you comfortable with how high school runs. Sophomore year begins throwing you in to what to expect for the next couple of years of high school. You now know the high school and classes get a little trickier. You do the high school activities again and they don’t have the same excitement as the first time but they are still enjoyable.
Junior year, the hardest year of high school. This year was rough for me as you have this year to get majority of your class credits to finish and the classes will be the hardest. I had to really push my Junior year to get by, Sophomore year has nothing on the difficulty that will be your Junior year, most people get jobs around this point then have to adjust to juggling a job and school and any sports they do at the same time. It makes it hard to do much during this year as you are busy with everything else.
My senior year of high school was the easiest year of high school. Most of your school credits are done so you get to pick and choose what classes you want to take. I picked classes I was actually interested in taking and just have floated through the year. You do all your highschool events for the last time as the veterans and the Big seniors that have their last year. Be careful though, I have found gliding through your senior year can make it come and go quicker than you can realize. I will remember my high school years and I’m ready to move on and do bigger things. Just don’t jump and run when that last bell rings. Get up, take a minute, and walk away from what made you and gave you the knowledge you will carry out those doors.
