At 7 in the morning on Good Friday, 58 boats set off into Newton Lake. The Pal-Hut Bass team went and faced other teams like Oblong’s team and Newton’s teams. There were 3 boats for Pal-Hut’s team with 2 students per boat. Because this was an individual tournament too, the teammates had to face each other as well.
Everyone did well and the day stayed nice and while there was some wind, it still made for a perfect fishing day.
While there was no major prize with this tournament, there is still the Sectionals tournament at Newton May 22nd. With that will be some trophies and additional prizes to win. The team is hoping for clear weather and not rain, it should be a sight to see as schools battle it out on the water to win those trophies.
If any 8th grader that is interested in joining the Pal-Hut Bass team should talk to some of the members or talk to your principal about the club.
