Last Monday, March 17, Scholastic Bowl had their awards night at Palestine High School. They had a great season with 17 wins and 8 losses. At the awards, there was a taco bar that was prepared by Ms. Provines.
Awards that were given:
Top Senior: Alix Bennett
Top Junior: Gracelyn Arvin
Top Sophomore: Cheyenne Newlin
Top Freshman: Ava Gray
Most Improved Player: Kaelynn Keith
Considering the team was pretty young, Tim Riley, the head coach says this was more of a rebuilding year.
The seniors that will be graduating this year are Atlas Clapp and Alix Bennett. This year was Atlas´s first year of competing in Scholastic Bowl and she showed her knowledge well. Atlas joined the team because mid-way through the season, Odin Cunningham switched to homeschooling and chose not be a part of the team. They needed one more team member to be considered an actual team; otherwise, they would´ve had to forfeit the rest of the matches. Alix has been a part of the Scholastic Bowl since his freshman year.
