The OPH boys baseball team had their first game yesterday Monday the 17th. They are being coached by Brandon Sparks and Chris Ralston. They played against Wayne City at Oblong. It was a varsity only game.
Lucas Blessing started out pitching and only allowed 4 runs. Riley Blank ended the game pitching only allowing 1 run. Going into the 7th inning OPH and Wayne City were tied 5-5 with bases loaded for OPH. The coach Brandon Sparks put trust in Riley Blank and asked him if he could steal home. Riley Blank told him he could and waited for the pitched to load up and he stole home putting OPH in the lead 6-5. Riley Blank then went and pitched while they got their last chance to tie the game or win. Riley Blank threw 3 strikes out at the end of the game to win the game.
The next OPH baseball game was Wednesday the 19th against Mt. Carmel at Mt. Carmel.
