The OPH boys played Newton in their first regional game at Newton. The starters for the game were Rowan Bailey, Riley Blank, Callum Roeder, Trevan Webster, and Graydon Kincaid.
The boys started out in a triangle and 2 (this is a defensive strategy). Rowan and Callum were guarding what we felt were Newton’s two best players while Riley, Trevan, and Graydon were in a zone. The game was close from the start. There were 18 lead changes and 14 ties. OPH and Newton were tied after every quarter besides the 4th. Graydon Kincaid and Riley Blank made some clutch free throws at the end of the game to put them in the lead by 4 points with 7 seconds left in the game. Newton threw the ball in and Trevan Webster stole the pass and dunked it at the buzzer to lead OPH to win by 6.
This was a very high intensity game that we hope to see again in their next game on Wednesday, February 26 at Paris at 6 pm.
The leading scorer was Riley Blank with 17 while Graydon Kincaid and Trevan Webster both had 14.
