Last Saturday, February 22, some students traveled to Eastern Illinois University to compete in various math tests. Math Team competition is an event that requires many students to take several different tests against other schools.
Math Team competition is a day to compete as individuals and as a team. Palestine High School had two students place in two different tests. Emily Rachoy got 7th place in the Pre Calculus test and Emily Rachoy & Peyton Pittenger placed 3rd in the 2 person test.
The tests consist of Algebra I (Elijah Beckes, Rayleigh Mullens, & Abby Drury), Geometry (Kinsler Beabout, Ryerson Beabout, Brylee Tingley, & Keely Burton), Algebra II (Wyatt Holmes, Kailyn Shoulders, Alyssa Nethery, Justin Fuller, Makenzie McDaniel, & Christopher Dunlap), Pre Calculus (Emily Rachoy, Devin Lawyer, & Peyton Pittenger), Freshman-Sophomore 2 Person Team (Elijah Beckes & Brylee Tingley), Junior-Senior 2 Person Team (Emily Rachoy & Peyton Pittenger), Freshman-Sophomore 8 Person Team (Rayleigh Mullens, Abby Drury, Kinsler Beabout, Ryerson Beabout, Wyatt Holmes, & Kailyn Shoulders) Junior-Senior 8 Person Team (Alyssa Nethery, Justin Fuller, Makenzie McDaniel, Christopher Dunlap, Devin Lawyer, & Peyton Pittenger), and Calculator Team (Brylee Tingley, Alyssa Nethery, & Devin Lawyer).
