On Tuesday, February 18th, the OPH Boys basketball team traveled to Farina to play South Central.
These games were supposed to start at 6 but ended up being at 5 because there was a chance of snow. As a result, the JV game only played two quarters before the Varsity game followed.
The OPH JV boys came out with a strong start against South Central in the first quarter, leading to South Central matching their run and beating them at the end of second and final quarter. The boys had time to get ready before their game after JV was done because it was South Central’s senior night for the basketball boys and cheerleaders.
To start off, the varsity game was going back and forth, trading baskets at both ends of the court. This eventually led to South Central starting to hit a whole lot of threes, but going into halftime, the OPH Boys weren’t too uneasy with the score being relatively close, even though they were down.
The second half began and South Central just came out with more energy, starting to hit a lot more threes than OPH. This led to OPH losing this game 68-35.
The OPH boys record is now 11-15. Their next match up is at home at Hutsonville on Thursday, February 20th, against Chrisman.
