On Saturday, February 8th, the OPH Boys Basketball team traveled to Martinsville to play in the LOVC tournament.
They played their first game, which was the second game of the tournament, against Red Hill. This game was a game where their intensity and play was at a pretty high level throughout the whole game. This helped because in their last meeting between the two teams, OPH was quiet when it came to scoring and defense for the most of the second half.
This game was a bounce back win for them, getting them back on track. It ended up being a close scoring game within 9 or 10 points, but ultimately OPH came out on top.
Their next game of the tournament, which was the championship game, was against Martinsville. From the jump it was a physical game, where the refs didn’t call many fouls and let the players play more than not. The OPH Boys ended up winning this game to win the LOVC tournament. This came from persevering and using their grit to play and come out on top as champions!!!
The OPH Boys are back in action again on Tuesday, February 11th at Newton.
