Yesterday Wednesday, February 5th, ACES Competition was held at Olney’s Central College.
In the ACES Competition, the ACES stands for “Academic Challenge in Engineering and Science.” They only do this competition once a year for high school students to give them a chance to build their resume for colleges.
The ACES Competition consists of a varsity team of 14 and they will compete against one another and as a team. They have seven categories including Biology, Computer Science, Chemistry, Math, Physics, Engineering graphics, and English. Students who place 1st or 2nd compete at the next level at a different location in the future.
Yesterday 13 of our high school students went to the ACES Competition at OCC, The following students are: Daylen Beckes, Adriana Taylor, Natalie Yargus, Peyton Pittenger, Devin Lawyer, Holden Sipes, Emily Rachoy, Kinsler Beabout, Ryerson Beabout, Brylee Tingley, Kailyn Shoulders, Miles Holscher, Abby Drury.
Devin placed 3rd in Physics, and Holden placed 3rd in Computer Science.
