Most people enjoy munching on some mozzarella sticks (unless they are lactose intolerant or don’t know what good food is). So, if you have ever wanted to make homemade ones instead of popping some frozen ones into the oven, this is your recipe!
For this recipe, you won’t need to fry them, this is an oven bake recipe. This recipe I got from allrecipes.com. The original recipe makes eight sticks, but this is the doubled one, so it will make sixteen. The original recipe is for frying the sticks, but since I’m guessing most people don’t want to do that, I’ve changed it so they are baked in the oven.
Ingredients
4 large eggs, beaten
1/2 cup of water
3 cups Italian seasoned bread crumbs
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cups cornstarch
2 (16 ounce) package mozzarella cheese sticks
Directions
step 1: Gather all ingredients together. having them all out and prepared makes it easier and quicker to make the food. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
step 2: Whisk water and eggs together in a small bowl. Mix bread crumbs and garlic salt together in a medium bowl. Blend flour and cornstarch together in a third bowl.
step 3: Dunk a mozzarella stick in flour and shake off the excess. Dip into the egg mixture. Lift it up so extra egg drips back into the bowl. Press into bread crumbs to coat it. repeat with the rest of the mozzarella sticks.
step four: Place mozzarella sticks into the oven and bake them for 6-10 minutes or until they have started browning,
