Last night, January 23rd, Scholastic Bowl had yet another match! They played three matches against Marshall, Lawrenceville, and Newton.
The first round was against Marshall. In this match the toss ups were a lot different compared to the last time, with each teammate grabbing several of them. Alix grabbed eight, Gracelyn grabbed four, and Odin grabbed six. This is compared to the Marshall team of five all together. Just like the difference in the toss-ups, Pal-Hut won with a huge gap of 200 to Marshall’s 50.
The next match they played was against Lawrenceville. Like most other teams, Lawrencville had more players than we do. But since when does that stop us? Even though Lawrencville had a toss up count of ten all together, Pal-Hut grabbed nineteen toss-ups, twelve being grabbed by Alix, five grabbed by Odin, and two grabbed by Gracelyn. Pal-Hut pulled ahead again in this match with a crazy 190 to 50.
The third and final round was against Newton. We had an even playing ground with toss-ups, fourteen and fourteen, Alix with six, Odin with five, and Gracelyn with two. After the first two wins, the Pal-Hut Scholastic Bowl team went in, ready to fight tooth and nail against Newton. They barely missed the mark with 160. Newton beat them by twenty points with 180.
Even though they lost the last match against Newton, they were still able to win the first two with amazing leads! I wish them good luck in their future matches.
