Last Friday, January 17, the OPH boys basketball played an outstanding game against Robinson for the annual shrine game. They played their game at Lincoln Trail College. This game was a very anticipated game by most of the county students, players, and community members. The gym was packed so full because of how excited everyone was. The boys were amped up from the amount of people packed into the gym. All of the boys played exceptionally well.
OPH held the lead the entire time whether it was big or small. There were many steals that led to fast-breaks for “easy” points. Most points scored were mostly due to turnovers from the opposing team. The fans projected their excitement to the boys which made them more confident in their skills. The boys definitely gave a show to all of the fans there to support.
Riley Blank led the team in points scoring 27. Following him was Graydon Kincaid with 14. Next was Callum Roeder with 10 points.
“We played well together as a team and ended up coming out on top,” Graydon Kincaid said about the game.
Callum Roeder said, “I think we need the fans to show up like that everywhere, not just at LTC.”
OPH took a win with a score of 60-48 against the Robinson Maroons. The game was definitely one to remember especially because of how hyped everyone in the gym was.
