Wrestling is a sport of technique and power. With this, the OPH wrestling has a good start to the season.

PHS wrestlers this year include junior Owen Griffin and freshman Jaxon Wesley.  They have gathered a good selection of people and are ready for this season.

Jaxon Wesley is a freshman at PHS who is currently on the wrestling team. Jaxon has taken a liking to the sport of wrestling, stating it’s a good way to stay in shape and maintain a certain weight throughout the sport. He finds it a nice replacement for football when football is out of season.

The wrestling team has a set schedule for wrestling practices and open mat days. This is to teach students different techniques in taking down opponents and allow students in wrestling to get to their weight classes and help even maintain weight class. As wrestling works off weight classing, so it is important to stay a constant weight to avoid getting moved around to different weight classes.

Overall wrestling is a great sport to teach you new techniques and to get — and keep you– in shape.
