It is an exciting time for those in the work experience class! Starting a few weeks ago, students got assigned with a place to job shadow until mid-March. Mrs. Huffington communicated with local businesses to get her students to be more hands on and get a feel for what it will be like in the “real world.” On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the students go to their jobs and ask questions and get a feel for what it will be like once they graduate. Each person has a certain time that they go to their job shadowing.

Most everyone has said that their time with work experience has been good so far. Graydon Kincaid, with McNair’s Hardware, says he has stocked shelves, asked some questions, and put prices on things if they have changed. Callum Roeder, with the Palestine Village Maintenance, said that he has ridden around town and raked and vacuumed some leaves.
Daylen Beckes thinks this is a great opportunity to get to learn about what she will be doing in the future. She is getting hands-on experiences in the pharmacy to educate her for college.
Overall, this is a great opportunity for students to be able to see what it is like and if they enjoy the career they have chosen.
