We have a new president-elect — Donald J. Trump.  Of course, he’s not new to the White House, having already served a 4 year term there before President Biden beat him in the last election.

Partly because the last election results were questioned by many voters, and there were many technical problems with voting and the tabulation of votes afterwards, there has never been such tension in an election like the presidential election between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris this year. The two campaigns seemed very close all through the months leading up to the election.  In fact, no one knew until the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 6, which side would be victorious.  Even the polls did a terrible job predicting the outcome of the election.

With Donald Trump winning the election, it wasn’t a surprising outcome to the Palestine High School. We held our own mock election, which Trump won in a landslide.  Both sides of this election had their good and bad points and accusations.

One accusation thrown on Donald Trump is his felony charges he received from his hush money trial. One thing that Kamala Harris got pressed about was her responses being rehearsed. When she would get asked questions, she was accused of not completely answering the questions and avoiding them.

In the end, the will and trust of the people will make or break the new United States President.
