Atlas Clapp is a current senior at PHS, having recently made the transition from being a Robinson Maroon to a Palestine Pioneer. The main reason for the change was to have a bigger home in Palestine and a smaller environment at Palestine High School.
One of the differences that Atlas likes compared to their previous school is the shorter class times and not having to switch every class next semester because they’re fit in to a block schedule.
Coming to a school with only 80 students, Atlas has found the transition to be mixed. While having fewer people is nicer, it is sometimes harder to converse because of a lack of open groups. One thing Atlas recommends to students transferring schools is not to be afraid of being confused.
“Take the time to get use to the environment and open your social boundary,” she says.
