The end of the year is approaching which means finals are here. There are some important things to know:
- If you are absent or fail to finish your final, 1st hour will be used to finish the exam.
- Busses will run as usual, and bus riders will go to the cafeteria or library to study upon arrival. All other students are allowed to arrive at any point before their first exam. Off-campus students may arrive at 3rd hour, and are allowed to leave if they do not have an exam to take while other PHS students are testing.
- If students finish a final early, they must stay until the period ends.
- Keep in mind that the finals are weighted heavily (20%) compared to other tests.
- Students with grades above a C+, good behavior and steady attendance (no more than 6 absences or 5 tardies) may be excused from some or all of their exams, although some finals are mandatory regardless.
- You are given the option to take the finals even if you would be excused, as this could also boost your grade. If you choose to take a final you’re not required to take, it will not count against you if you don’t do well on that exam.
- Students who are only taking some of the finals can come all day or sign in and out before and after their finals. For example, if you are taking final 2 and 4, you can arrive before final 2 and sign out after final 4.
- Art and band students will not be transported to PHS. Art will meet in Ms. Huffington’s room, while band will meet in Mrs. Inboden’s room.
- Breakfast begins at 7:35, and there is a study hall in the cafeteria (Ms. Provines on Thursday and Ms. Meadows on Friday) and library (Mrs. Adams on Thursday and Ms. Smith on Friday) until 8:30.
- On Thursday, there will be odd finals (1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th hours), while Friday will be even finals (2nd, 4th, and 6th hours).
