The Monical family started their business in 1959 by making pizzas in Tolono, Illinois, which is a small town just south of Champaign. The recipe that the Monical family came up with quickly became a hit with the people in Tolono. Soon Monical’s Pizza restaurant was born and grew across Illinois and neighboring states. Today Monical’s can be mainly found in central Illinois, however, there are several restaurants in Indiana, and one in Missouri and Wisconsin.
