Crawford Memorial Hospital has once again sent out forms offering their yearly sports physicals. These physicals are open to all Crawford County student athletes except incoming sixth graders and incoming freshmen because they will need to ensure they have their school physicals. All paperwork has been sent out to emails on file. This paperwork will need to be completed and turned in by May 24, 2024.
These sports physicals only cost $20.00 and our school receives 80% of the proceeds from all of our student-athletes that receive one. Physicals will be performed on June 12, 2024 or June 19, 2024. If you have any questions you can contact Scott Rawlings at [email protected].
Sports physicals help determine if it is safe for an athlete to participate in a sport. Most likely it will be required for any athlete to have a sports physical before they begin playing their sport of choice.
There are two main sections of a sports physical: the medical history and the physical exam. The medical history will have questions including family medical history, any of your current and past medical history, and any current or past medications you have taken. During the physical examination the physician will take your height and weight, check your blood pressure and heart rate, test your vision, check your heart, and look over your muscles, bones, and joints. It is very important to receive a sports physical before beginning any sport. It can prevent any serious health event while you are participating in your sport of choice.
