Last night the Lady Tigers had their first game on the road in Marshall. It was not a pretty game, especially since the 10-run rule was put in place, but the girls did not let the loss get to them too much.
Hayden Monan started out the game pitching, and Ayla Cook was the catcher. Izzy Monan was at first, Zoey Beabout at second, Lily Holcomb at shortstop and Addi McNair at third base. Ahlya Abel started in right field, Brynn Griffin in center, and Alaina Holcomb in left field.
In the first two innings, the Lady Tigers would not score any runs, but they would gave up 5 runs. When the third inning began the score was 0-5, but the Lady Tigers’ luck would change. They would score 1 run in the third inning, which would open up the door to more scoring opportunities.
In the final two innings, the Lady Tigers would score 5 more runs, but it just would not be enough. The Marshall Lions ended up scoring 11 more runs, which is how the 10-run rule came in effect. The final score was 6-16.
Hayden Monan pitched a decent game. She pitched a total of 105 pitches, and struck out 2 batters. Addi McNair led the team with runs batted in. Addi had 3 RBIs this game, which made her season total 7 so far.
You can catch the Lady Tigers on the field at home this weekend. They will face off against North Central in a double header starting at 12 pm on Saturday. The second game will start at approximately 1:30 pm.
