The Palestine High School National Honors Society chapter held their yearly induction to welcome their new inductees into the club. This event was held at 7 PM on Thursday, March 14th in the Palestine High School gymnasium. However, the event did start a little early with some inclement weather coming toward town. Parents and guardians were invited to attend.
During this event, the new members joined the current members, led by Mr. and Mrs. Will. The National Honors Society officers, Zoey Beabout, Briley Beabout, Cydney Pethtel, Jack Hawkins, and Ahlya Abel, spoke about each quality the members must possess in order to be chosen to be apart of the club. These qualities, or pillars, include scholarship, service, leadership, and character. After that, president Jack Hawkins led the new inductees in the oath.
The new National Honors Society inductees: Daylen Beckes, Devin Lawyer, Holden Sipes, Peyton Pittenger, and Adriana Taylor. These students were chosen by teachers and staff to be inducted into the National Honors Society based on their grades, behavior, and characteristics they display.
Current National Honors Society members: Charlie Burkett, Aubree Ramsey, Kiara Fralicker, Addi McNair, Zoey Rinesmith, Zoey Beabout, Briley Beabout, Cydney Pethtel, Ahlya Abel, Jack Hawkins. These students were chosen and inducted in last year’s ceremony.
Mrs. Inboden’s nutrition classes made an assortment of snacks and desserts for this event. Some of the snacks the students prepared are fruit cabobs, teenie weenies in a blanket, cream cheese roll ups, olives, and cheese. They also made a couple of desserts like cream cheese mints and macarons. The students did a great job on the food, and it was enjoyed by all!
