Top 5 Shows on Netflix
Supernatural is a very popular show that aired from 2005-2020.
Supernatural follows two brothers, Dean and Sam Winchester, who follow in their fathers footsteps of hunting supernatural beings. This all started when the boy’s mother was killed by a demon in their house. This event was just one of the many events that would end up shaping the lives of Dean and Sam.
Over the 15 seasons, there are plenty of references to folklore, urban legends, mythology and Christian theology.
Supernatural is low on the list because quite frankly it isn’t a show that is for everyone, but it deserves #5 because of how much it gets watched and rewatched by the people who love it.
Grey’s Anatomy has been airing on TV since 2005. The hit show is about to have its 20th season premier on TV on March 14th.
Grey’s Anatomy follows the personal and professional lives of the doctors at Seattle Grace Hospital (eventually Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital). The show is mainly centered on Meredith Grey, which the show is named after, who is the daughter of the world class surgeon Ellis Grey.
Throughout the 19 seasons that have aired so far there has been plenty of drama and chaos to keep us on the edge of our seats. From doctors being in relationships together to surprising deaths, just about everything has been done in Grey’s Anatomy.
Grey’s Anatomy is placed at #4 because while this show is really popular and a lot of people rewatch it, the last few seasons haven’t had the best feedback. Whenever people rewatch it, they decide to skip the last few seasons because they don’t feel like it is worth their time.
Gilmore Girls is a TV show that aired from 2000-2007. This show is heartfelt, endearing, and hilarious.
This show is about the life of a 32 year old mother and her 16 year old daughter. It shows them growing up together as they are each other’s best friend. Living in the town where everyone knows everyone. Yet Lorelai Gilmore, the mom, has a mother who makes them attend weekly dinners for most likely forever. So more drama is pulled into the show as her mother is very uptight and on the richer side of it all. The show is a comedy-drama, and is great for anyone.
This is higher on the list as to a lot of people enjoy watching it, and every time I have asked about show suggestion, this show has to come up every time.
Stanger Things has been a hit ever since its release in the summer of 2016.
Season 1 begins in the year 1983 in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana, where everyone knows each other. Strange events begin to happen after a young boy, Will Byers, goes missing. A girl, Eleven, escapes from a laboratory near town and befriends a group of boys, who happen to be Will’s friends. Together Eleven and the boys try to find what happened to and eventually rescue Will Byers.
In seasons 2-4 Eleven, Will, Mike, Lucas, and Dustin work together to fight against the dark forces that threaten their small town and the world. Even the parents, Joyce Byers and Jim Hopper, join the kids on some of their adventures and have some of their own.
The reason Stranger Things is #2 on the list is because people are rewatching the show in anticipation for season 5. Although, a release date has not been set yet, it could be late 2024 or sometime in 2025 before the new season comes out.
Love is Blind has recently been a hit, this show aired in 2020.
This show is a dating show, where you go into a room where you can’t see each other. They call these the “pods”. They go meet their future husband and just get to know them by gaining a connection just by talking. They aren’t allowed to see each other until the guy proposes to the girl. No physical connection will happen until they go on vacation for a few days, then move in with each other afterwards. They only have 4 weeks to get married from start to finish. It’s an experiment where is love really blind?
This show is one of THE top shows right now, so placing it number one is just practical.
