As the 58th annual Super Bowl was played last night, the traditional halftime show was also performed. This year’s halftime show was brought to you by Usher and a few special guests, all fitting 14 songs into a 13 minute long show. Let’s take a deeper look at Usher’s set list.
Usher opened the show with “Caught Up,” then faded into the song “U Don’t Have To Call.” After that song, he made a tribute to his mom saying “Hey Momma, we made it. Now, this, this is for you,” then sang a short bit of “Superstar” before going on to perform the upbeat hit, “Love In This Club.” After that, Alicia Keys joined Usher on stage to sing “If I Ain’t Got You” and “My Boo,” which included some intimate touching and dancing. Directly after that, the cameras moved across stage to Jermaine Dupri who started performing “Confessions, Part II.” Usher then took over and did a mashup of “Nice & Slow” and “Burn.” Next, he started singing “U Got it Bad,” and ended up taking his shirt off, making the fans go crazy. During this song, H.E.R was playing the electric guitar and even had a solo moment while Usher made a costume change. After his change to his blue and black outfit, Usher and his posse came out riding on roller skates to perform “Bad Girl” which faded into “OMG,” with the help of will.i.am. After this banger, the upbeat favorite “Turn Down For What,” with Lil Jon lit the stadium with a fire of enthusiasm from the fans. Usher, Lil Jon, and Ludacris closed the show with the famous “Yeah!” which fans had been anticipating during the entire performance.
This year’s halftime show was full of energy, and so many fans loved it. Usher packed this performance full with 14 songs, which is more than the average. This halftime show had a lot going on including dancing, roller skating, pole dancing, many special guests, and so much hype! This will definitely go down as one of the most memorable halftime shows.
