Next Thursday, February 8th, our Pay-It-Forward club will be making Valentine’s Day cards. These cards will be given out to the elderly in the local nursing homes. In order to make as many cards as possible, Mrs. Hyde and all of the club members would like to have a lot of people come make cards. Anyone that wants to come make a few cards can do so in 1st or 2nd WIN.
Making Valentine’s Day cards for the elderly is special in its own way. What some people may not realize is that some of the elderly in nursing homes may not be as fortunate as others. Some elderly may have loved ones that are able to visit them for every occasion, while others do not have that opportunity. By Pay-It-Forward helping make cards, it will help bring an extra bit of joy and happiness to their lives.
Briley Beabout, who works as a CNA at Robinson Rehab & Nursing, says , “The people who don’t get visitors all the time, or in general, really enjoy receiving cards and gifts. It makes them feel really happy and seen.” Briley also says that making Valentine’s Day cards for the elderly is something very special and important.
So if you want to help make the elderly have some more happiness in their lives, please come help Pay-It-Forward. Again this will take place in Mrs. Hyde’s room during 1st and 2nd WIN on Thursday, February 8. The more cards we are able to make, the more happy elderly residents in nursing homes there will be this Valentine’s Day!
