Meet Angie Tovo, my Grandma. She has been a huge influence on my life. I chose to interview my grandmother because I know she will be open and honest for this interview.
- What is one of your very first memories?
I recall when I was a small girl going to my “Nonnie’s” which is what I called my grandma and she would always have candy for us grandkids. She was one of the best grandma’s. I hope I made her proud.
- How often did you get to see your Nonnie?
My Nonnie lived in Cincinnati, Ohio. We lived in Kentucky for awhile then moved to Robinson, IL. I would get to visit her on holidays and the best part was every summer I would get to ride a bus to Cincinnati to visit her and stay the whole summer with her.
- What has been your favorite age so far?
I’d say my 50’s. I have gotten to spend so much time with all of you grandkids. Don’t get me wrong I love your mom but spending time with you kids has been really special.
- What was the happiest day of your life?
When your mom and your uncle came into this world.
- What has been the saddest day of your life so far?
The hardest day of my life so far was when my mom passed away. I miss her so very much.
- What is something you do every day?
I play cards with the women here in my apartment building. We really have a good time together.
- Do you like living in your new apartment building?
Yes, I do. It gives me a chance to be around more people.
- Do you have any pets?
I have Bentley. He is a shorkie. A mixture between a shih zu and a yorkie.
- How old is Bentley?
Bentley just turned 6 in December. He is spoiled rotten.
- What are you looking forward to most right now?
I am looking forward to warmer weather so I can go outside. Being stuck inside is so boring and depressing at times.
- What is your favorite vacation spot?
I love the beach. Panama City Beach has to be my favorite it is so pretty there.
- What do you do on vacation?
We usually just relax and stay at the condo. We will go out and eat and shop.
- What was your favorite fashion fad that has been out?
I loved the flared jeans and long tops.
- What was your favorite hobby as a teenager?
I liked to go to the skating rink and the bowling alley with my friends.
- What are you most proud of today?
All of my family!
