Taylor Swift was raised on an 11-acre Christmas tree farm in Reading, Pennsylvania, before relocating to Nashville at the age of 14 to pursue and eventually achieve the status of a pop and country music celebrity. Even though Swift’s family sold the farm when they moved to Tennessee, it played a significant role in her early years, particularly during the holidays. When he wasn’t working at his day job in finance at Merrill Lynch, her father, Scott Swift, bought Pine Ridge Farm from a client. Swift composed a Christmas song about the experience in 2019 because it was so meaningful to her. Fans of Swiftie have long known how quickly the singer-songwriter can write and record a song; in only six days, she wrote, recorded, and released a new one. That’s right this whole song came together and got released in less than a week. Swift’s holiday single had a heartwarming music video that featured vintage home videos of the Swift family on their previous farm in Pennsylvania. Her younger brother Austin and parents Scott and Andrea were also highlighted. You watch video of the family playing in the snow, strolling among the untrimmed Christmas trees, and getting together to unwrap presents on Christmas morning. Most famously, we witness the moment when Santa gave Swift her very first acoustic guitar. It gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling just to watch the video. This release got rerecorded in 2021 and rereleased as an “Old Timey Version.” Originally issued on Nov. 22 as an Amazon Music exclusive, it was made available a day later to all streaming platforms.
