On Tuesday November 6th, Mrs. Wartsbaugh, the Palestine Grade School and High School art teacher, took high school students Summer Agan, Stephanie Rudd, Kaley Nidey, Zehn Flores, Jade Monroe, and Katie Lanham,  all members of the Art Club, to Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.

Students began by going into the Tarble Arts Center building with a guide who explained and talked about some of the art pieces on display there. After looking at the art pieces, students went into a classroom where an EIU professor and students showed Art Club members how to screenprint. Each PHS student was able to screenprint a piece to bring home.

After learning screen printing students went to the EIU food court to have lunch. Afterwards they took a tour of the Doudna Fine Arts Center building. Dan Cruz, our guide, showed them the drama department including backstage, the pit, the workshop, the green room, the black box, and the costume shop.
