The OPH Girls Basketball team has officially had their first game of the season! They played against Dugger, and they came out with a win 51-35. We are hoping that they have a very successful season.
In the first quarter, OPH was winning 13-8, and then in the second quarter Dugger scored 1 point while OPH scored another 15, leaving the score to be 28-9 by the end of the second quarter. Genna Kidwell scored 20 out of the 28 points in the first half, but sadly didn’t get the chance to score in the second half. They were on fire in that first half which is a great way to start off the game. As the third quarter came about, Dugger started to score more and more points. As Addi McNair said, the score “got too close for comfort” with it being 37-25. Dugger came back out of half time and had a decent comeback to get themselves back up on the board. Once the fourth quarter came along, OPH scored 14 more points and Dugger scored 10, ending the game with the final score and an OPH win with 51-35.
The OPH girls basketball team had an amazing start to their season, and I can’t wait to see what this season has in store for them! They work hard on and off the court to have an amazing season every year, and it shows. Everyone on the team had the chance to play during the game, which is great because nobody had to sit on the bench the whole game. Their next game is today 11/14 North Clay @6:15. If you can, try and make it to their game and show you OPH support!
