It is almost time for the biggest even in Rodeo. The NFR stands for the National Finals Rodeo, where the top 15 cowboys/ cowgirls from each event fight for a world title. The NFR take place in vegas for rounds of rodeo. This year spanning from December 7th to the 16th. There are several events during the NFR including Miss Rodeo America, PRCA National Convention, Cinch Western Gift Show, Break Away Roping National Finals, Cowboy Christmas, Junior World Finals, and many meet and greets.

During the time in Vegas there are also PRCA and WPRCA awards for rodeos and people nominated as the best. Our Palestine City Rodeo will be recognized as Small Rodeo Of the Year at the WPRCA award banquet. This means that we were nominated as the best small rodeo for barrel racing. This comes from how many contestants we have and how much they like our rodeo. Not only ate there awards before the rodeo, there are also Buckle Presentations after each night to award the Go Around Winners. Each Go Around winner will receive a check and a buckle.

The NFR is also very popular for western fashion. People collect and start planning pieces of their NFR outfits early in the year There are shops at Cowboy Christmas and other events to shop for western fashion.  NFR fashion includes skirts and dresses ; fringe, leather, bold colors, denim, and lots of glitter. It’s what makes NFR the best dressed event of the year. Pair any outfits with boots and a hat, you’ll fit right in.
