OPH Football played at Madison High School on Friday, September 22nd at 7pm. The football boys and varsity cheerleaders traveled 2 hours and 40 minutes to Madison, IL on Friday.
The experience in Madison IL, was very positive and the staff were all very nice when we arrived. We also found the Madison fans and players to be very respectful and nice. They also let us cheerleaders have a room in the school to get ready before the game after the long bus ride.
OPH football had a lot of fans for the game being so far away, including baby Cohen, Mrs. and Mr. Will’s son, attending his first far away OPH game.
OPH Football had a lot of interceptions, and Brandon Thacker scored our only touchdown. OPH lost the game 6-38, but put up a very good fight. The score of this game was the best we have had yet.
Avry Monti got hurt in the first quarter and unfortunately, is now is out for the season because of his knee. Pray no other players get hurt in the future games, as we need the players.
OPH Football plays again Saturday, September 30th against North Central. This game is in Farmersburg, IN (1pm IL). This is only about 40 min-1 hour away. Let’s be there and support our OPH Football and Cheerleaders. We also have Oblong’s homecoming game on October 7th. Palestine’s homecoming will follow the next week on October 13th, so we’re hoping the student body will be there and support.
Our season is a little over halfway through. Make sure to come see a game before the end of season!
