Nathan More headed to XC sectionals October 27th.  Before he left, the High School formed a tunnel for him to walk through and congratulate him.  He then had a police escort to the grade school where the staff and students told him good luck before he was on his way to Decatur. Nathan and Coach Will ate at Olive Garden to get carb loaded before the race.

They got to bed early and woke up at 6:30 to shower and get a good breakfast.  They got to the race two hours early to get a good warm up on the course and get ready.  The race was run at Hickory Point Golf Course.

On the girls’ side of the races a Sophomore girl, Lydia Roller, crushed the competition, beating second place by 30 seconds with a time of 17:23.  The five top girls’ teams advancing were Tolono (Unity), St. Joseph (Ogden), Monticello, Urbana (University), and Teutopolis.

Over on the boys’ side, a senior from Monticello, Garret Dixon, won with a time of 15:15.  Garret is also seeded number 1 in 1A state. Nathan More ran a time of 16:38 placing him 29th, which wasn’t enough to advance but gave him a PR (personal record) he was proud to end with.  The boys’ teams advancing are Monticello, Robinson, Urbana (University), Marshall, and Cumberland.
