After getting rained out on Tuesday, the OPH Boys Golf team had a match last night at Oak Glen against Newton and Lawrenceville. The OPH Wildcats ended up placing last place in the three team match. While they were up against tough competitors, every single boy on the team put in their best effort. Coach Phil said that the Varsity boys ended up shooting their 2nd best team score at this match with the score of 186. The individual scores for both Varsity and JV were:
Varsity
Riley Blank- 42
Carson Musgrave- 46
Brody Beabout- 47
Bentley Cook- 51
Cole Littlejohn- 54
Ace Coulter- 55
Junior Varsity
Cameron Davis- 57
Rowan Bailey-57
Willis Strohm-58
Arron Johnson-60
Eli Newlin- 62
The boys even had a couple more supporters watching and taking pictures at the match last night. Emily Rachoy and Cydney Pethtel, both on the girls team, went to the match to show off their Wildcat pride. The boys enjoyed seeing the girls there to support them. Emily and Cydney got to experience what it feels like to watch a golf match from a spectators view.
Emily Rachoy says, “If I had to pick between playing or watching a match, I would pick playing. I just don’t get the same feeling from watching a match as I do when I am actually playing in one.”
The OPH Wildcats golf team will travel tonight to Quail Creek in Robinson for the last match of the week. Both the boys and girls will compete in the match. Hopefully everyone on the team does their best, so the team can bring home the win.
