The OPH Wildcats kicked off their 2023 football season on Saturday, August 26, fighting the Lawrencville Indians. They played hard and didn’t give up until our Wildcats came up short 19-68.
The football players and cheerleaders all ended the game on good terms. Both teams gathered around as the Lawrencville coach prayed for both teams and for a safe and successful season.
Thankfully, there were no severe injuries this Saturday.
Along with the positive vibes, there were fireworks shot off when the Wildcats scored or when we got a 1st down.
The Oblong band played a fun performance during half time. The OPH cheerleaders had a successful first game as they were finally able to come together to perform what they had been practicing.
The Wildcats will play their second game of the season where they will play at Casey on Friday, September 1 as Labor Day weekend kicks off.
