“Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret” is the story of an eleven year old girl, moving from New York to New Jersey, discovering and rethinking everything she knows while learning about life, friendship, and religion. With her father being Jewish and her mother a devout Christian, she is left to determine  her own religion. While trying to discover her faith she is also developing as a young female, learning as she goes.

This movie is adapted from the acclaimed novel by Judy Blume and captured it beautifully. The scenes, the actors and actresses, and the style fit the book perfectly. The 70’s style was definitely captured. It was prominent in every scene in the props and costumes.

I watched the movie with a friend and our parents, and it was hilarious; we were laughing throughout the entire movie. It reminded me of my middle school days so much. This movie was one that I would watch again and again.
