It’s that time of year again.  Scholastic Bowl practices are in full swing, but this year they are trying to participate in some fall tournaments in addition to their regular spring season. The Scholastic Bowl team practices every Tuesday from 3:45-5:00.  

This year’s roster consists of seven freshman, two sophomores, six juniors and three seniors.  This includes Palestine freshmen Krescene Holscher and Katie Lanham, sophomores Marissa Lanham and Faith Baron, juniors August Biernbaum, Jade Monroe, and Blake Knoblett, and seniors Carson Fritchie, Evan Holscher, and Kelsey Lanham, in addition to five Hutsonville students.  Since most of the team are underclassmen, next year’s team will have many returning members if they all continue in scholastic bowl.  

The team will participate in their first tournament at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign on October 13.  This will be the first time that the Scholastic Bowl team has participated in this tournament, so it will be a new experience for all of them.  Although this is a Varsity tournament, members of both Junior Varsity and Varsity teams will be participating in this tournament.
