“In the 1970s, Greg Laurie and a sea of young people descend on sunny Southern California to redefine truth through all means of liberation. Inadvertently, Laurie meets a charismatic street preacher and a pastor who open the doors to a church to a stream of wandering youth. What unfolds is a counterculture movement that becomes the greatest spiritual awakening in American history.” This is the brief overview that you will find when you look up what Jesus Revolution is all about.

The movie is based off of a real movement that took place in the late 60s and early 70s. It all started when hippies across the country wanted to find something different in their lives and find eternal happiness not short-term happiness. The Jesus Movement started in many small groups across the country, but then it ignited like a wildfire and began to spread from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean. The term “Jesus Freaks” was coined from this movement because lots of these people were drug addicts and homeless.

If you like a movie that brings you to tears, but also makes you jump with joy then this movie was made for you. You do not have to be Christian to watch this movie; this movie is made for all crowds that want to know the story of one of the greatest revivals of all time.
